About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!

My name is Adriano Bittar. I am a contemporary dancer, a physiotherapist and a Pilates teacher, currently pursuing my PhD on Contemporary Art at the Visual Arts Department of the University of Brasília, Brazil (research field: dance composition). I dance for NEKA poéticas corporais , and most recently I have been working with the preparation of the poetics for Quasar Cia de Dança , an internationally renowned Brazilian dance company. My main idea on the doctorate is to apply a different movement concept created by me, called Rabisco/Sketch, to create contemporary dance pieces. Rabisco uses specific tools, such as the Body Cells, photos of the dance composition process digitally modified, or illustrations, that convey aspects of movement normally hidden, and the Manipulations in Action, a hands-on technique, that stimulate the dancers to explore embodiment and co-creation while they move. Different techniques, or bodyworks, are used in order for the Body Cells, the Manipulations in Action, and the Rabisco appear. Out of the ones we have being playing with recently, I could mention the contact-improvisation, contemporary dance, Pilates and manual therapies (Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and Fascial Release). As a dance/movement practitioner/researcher/teacher I have always being very keen on getting to know other colleagues that are also on a quest, trying to find out what their truth about moving/dancing is, and what they are really trying to achieve as movers/dancers/teachers.
