Born in Mexico City, Alejandro studied dance at the National School of Modern Dance of Mexico. Upon completing the program, he was awarded a two-year scholarship at the School of American Ballet in New York City. He has danced professionally for the Hartford Ballet, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Compañía Nacional de Danza in Mexico City. In 2004, Alejandro moved to Montreal, where he’s had the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers such as José Navas, Marie Chouinard, Hélène Blackburn, Roger Sinha, Lina Crúz and Sara Build. Parallel to his dance trajectory in Montreal, Alejandro completed studies in Film Production at Concordia University. He has directed several short films as well as having collaborated in larger scale performance installations with different choreographers in Canada and abroad. In 2010, Alejandro founded his own company, Lost & Found with the intention of creating an interdisciplinary lab for work committed to exploring the expression of physicality. Alejandro is interested in the connection between emotional transformation and the reconstruction of space. Lost & Found is an artistic platform that explores the relationship between the body and the organization of the spaces we inhabit — including virtual and public spaces.
