Dana M. Reed grew up in Mississippi where she started dancing at an early age. She loved to perform so much that she carried around a piece of wood to show off her clogging steps without scuffing any floors. Dana lives her life on the edge, pushing the limits just enough to be noticed. She has tried to escape her artistic feelings throughout her life, but they never leave her. The restlessness is always there. She constantly seeks balance through teaching Bates Dance Festival’s Youth Arts Program and directing her own dance company, Alternative Collaborations.
