Parkour is an extreme art form that challenges the strength and courage of its disciples, who call themselves “traceurs.” These young men and women climb scaffolding, jump off buildings, dive down staircases and roll across concrete in their quest for beauty and adventure. For the traceurs the modern city is an enormous jungle gym and recess lasts forever. The collaborative, multi-media performance group, Bullett Run brings the exciting outdoor world of Parkour to the stage. Our first show premiered at The Brooklyn Lyceum on November 20-23rd, 2008 to sold out crowds. The Village Voice named our show, “Physical Graffiti” a “Voice Choice” and describing it as, “a jaw-dropping multimedia piece.” Choreographer and video maker Nadia Lesy, integrates video imagery of traceurs and the city scapes they travel across with live performance. Lesy’s work with New York traceurs not only incorporates media with live performance, but also produces experimental video and documentaries for the web and film festivals. This allows Bullett Run to reach audiences on the stage and screen and through the internet.
