Carolina Natal is a dancer and researcher with a PhD in Multimedia (Dance and Cinema) from the Institute of Arts at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (State University of Campinas - UNICAMP) in Brazil. She completed a yearlong doctoral internship at the Université Paris VIII Vincennes – Saint Dennis. Her research focuses on Screendance, the interface between dance and cinema, and her videos have been part of various Screendance festivals. Natal was published in the book Ensaios Contemporâneos de Videodança (Essays in Contemporary Videodance) (2012) from the International Festival of Video & Dance, Dança em Foco (Brazil). As teaching experience, Natal has worked as an assistant professor in the Dance Course at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ) and currently holds the position of Contemporary Dance Choreographer at Cia Jovem de Dança (Youth Company of Dance) in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
