CONSTANCE COOKE : Choreographer for Stage & Screendance, Movement and Screendance Educator.
Cooke is a Canadian Dance Artist whose choreographic works for stage and screendance have been presented in Canada, the United States and Europe. Cooke is Co-Director of Dance For The Camera, and Artistic Director of the newly formed SOS Dance (Scene on Stage and Screen). Her choreographic works have been presented by various Dance Series and Festivals. Cooke also self-produces her own work and has shared programmes with other artists and companies. She has been commissioned to create works for Canadian Dance Companies and Independent Dance Artists. Her own works in screendance have been seen nationally and internationally including ‘Anarchists Footwear?’ which had its American debut in New York at the Dance on Camera Film Festival.
As Co-Artistic Director of Dance for The Camera Victoria, Cooke has devised a movement curriculum specifically for film directors and choreographers. Cooke has had the delight to teach movement for the frame with award winning British film legend David Hinton, and American filmmaker, curator, educator and Guggenheim Fellowship Recipient Ellen Bromberg.
Cooke has taught movement for the frame for a number of arts organizations in Canada including Dance For The Camera Victoria, Media- Net, The Victoria School Of Contemporary Dance, White Birch /Dance Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, and The CanAsian Film Festival in alliance with Kaeja Dance in Toronto.
Cooke is a guest artist, teacher, choreographer and mentor with Professional Training Programmes, Intensives and Mentorship programmes she has made a significant contribution to the professional training of dancers in Canada. Former students have gone on to established their own companies and independent careers and are currently dancing with professional companies throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.
Cooke has been the recipient of numerous awards, scholarships and grants including The Canada Council of the Arts, BC Arts Council, The Manitoba Arts Council, The Vancouver Foundation, BC Hydro, Dance Victoria and more.

BADco. will hold a workshop in Frankfurt, Germany 26.-28. April, also working with Whatever Dance Toolbox. As we are coming out with a practical manual and the LiveCD distribution of the software this week, I am sure more workshops will be planned for the autumn.
