    Courtney graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a BA in both Dance and Spanish and a minor in Nutrition. She began dancing at the age of three, and trained primarily under the direction of Maeghan Johnson at Studio Y in Neenah, WI. At UWSP, Courtney trains in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, composition, and Pilates under the direction of Joan Karlen, Michael Estanich, Jeannie Hill, Pamela Luedtke, and Amy Beversdorf. She has performed in the student-choreographed show Afterimages, as well as the faculty-choreographed Danstage, including Ceremonia (2009) by Jesse Schmitz-Boyd, Engendered Species (2010) by Carolyn Marcotte, When She Becomes That (2011) by Sarah Johnson, The Angel and the Albatross (2009) by Michael Estanich, and was an assistant to the choreographer to Michael Estanich for his work The Lonely Visitors (2010). Courtney choreographed original works Rusting Rooftops (2010) as well as [Read Only] (2011), and served as a student director for Afterimages for 2 years. Besides just training at UWSP, Courtney has brought her training international on the Thailand Study Abroad Program Winter of 2009 where she spend a month sharing and teaching dance with children in Thailand, as well as spending a semester abroad spring of 2011 in Spain training under Eva Simon at La Escuela de La Danza. This past summer, Courtney trained with Erin Carlisle-Norton of The Moving Architects and served with the organization Project Dance in Washington, D.C. Courtney is a recipient of the Kathryn Bukolt Dance Award (2010).
