    Diana Garcia-Snyder: performer, teaching artist, choreographer, collaborator and Pilates instructor. Garcia-Snyder holds a Master of Fine Arts in dance from the University of Washington along a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Graphic Design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) in México City. She received her ballet training with honors at the Royal Academy of Dancing in London, UK and Mexico City— After her performing carrier and dance teaching practices in ballet and modern dance in the US and Mexico for the past twelve years, she continues her search for the essence and real dance in herself and others which has guided her to improvisation and dance composition, as well as training, performing and researching about Japanese Butoh and Butoh Ritual Mexicano a combination of Butoh, bioenergetics and Mexican ritual practices —Along her search to understand the connections between body, mind and human emotions through the practice of Butoh and other improvisation and somatic practices (such as contact improvisation, yoga, and Skinner Release technique ), she has always been interested in the relationship of dance and technology and has been creating and directing multimedia, site-specific and video dance projects using Butoh concepts and various improvisation techniques. She teaches Butoh, VideoDance, Pilates and Dancing with Life, a somatic and self- exploration technique developed by her collaboration with Marv Thomas, award winning community theorist and psychotherapist .
