Hanna Pajala-Assefa is a contemporary dance artist, who's artistic work crosses between choreography, dance film, interactive art, art research and culture activism. She has a masters degree in Choreography (Theater academy -95) and in 2013 was awarded with the ”Finnish Dance Achievement”-Award, for her ground breaking work in founding and developing Loikka – dance film festival. During her carrier she has conceived over 20 independent dance works, directed dance films and worked in interdisciplinary productions. Her latest stage work Excerpts was premiered in September 2015. She is currently working on developing a interdisciplinary movement sourced music method Sounding Movement. Her work is emerged in many different forms, it can be found on stage, in urban, natural and domestic spaces, on screen and paper. Her art is concretized in movement, sound, moving image and writing. She works in an interdisciplinary collective mode with artist for various background and forms. and the main driving force is movement and exploration into corporal existence.
