About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!

Interest: dance and technology Affiliation: University of Plymouth, U.K. Work: artist, reseacher, Production manager Short bio: In spring 2005, Isabelle Choinière began a doctorate at the Center for Advanced Inquiry in the Integrative Arts (CAiiA) affiliated with Plymouth University in England, under the supervision of Roy Ascott, founder and director of the Planetary Collegium. This program has just been attributed the 2011 world universities forum award for best practice in higher education. Founder and director of Corps Indice in Montreal, Canada (a company working with the relationship between dance/performance and technology), Choinière’s artistic approach integrates the interrelationship of disciplines and the questioning of each of their own forms of writing. Her research looks at the ways in which the infiltration of technological thought in the contemporary performative scene may find applications in the development of new performative models. Driven by a syncretistic approach, her work is based on the strategy of renewing both sensorial experience and perception because it has become evident that technology in the twenty-first century has paved a path for perpetual synaesthesia- meaning it is formed as much by proprioception of the real body as by exteroception of the mediated body. Since 1995, she has regularly presented her creations and lectures in international festivals such as/Cynetart04_Areale/,Dresden, Germany(2004), the 40th anniversary of the Délégation du Québec Paris/,Paris, France (2001) and the Festival Internacional de Teatro del Mercosur/, Cordoba, Argentina (2001). Her works are studied by numerous research groups and universities throughout the world. Her latest articles have been published by the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (Austria) (2009), in 2009 by the Cambridge Scholars Publishing Ltd. (U.K.), by the Journal for Transdisciplinary Knowledge Design (Korea) and will be published in 2012 in the books The Point-of-Being, under the direction of Derrick de Kerckhove, by the Cambridge Scholars Publishing Ltd.
