I am an undergraduate researcher of integrated dance in the budding fields of cognitive dance studies and disability studies at UC Santa Cruz (I'm based in Cognitive Science and Sociology departments and am trained in those respective disciplines). I'm also very interested in thinking through the moving body (dancers and spectators) in its interactions with media apparatuses through which they are mutually inscribed and learning how we can develop those apparatuses responsibly and in a way that takes bodily diversity seriously. I follow Donna Haraway and Karen Barad in thinking through embodiment, technic, culture, and science. I dance house, urban, hip-hop (breaking, waacking and locking), and bachata. I have some jazz and contemporary training. I like to think dance is legitimate way of knowing the world too and I find a palpable way to make this immediately available to the world has been through integrated contact improvisation.
