Proud of her West Coast origins, Jen Roit received a merit scholarship to attend NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. After working with choreographers such as Karole Armitage, Bill Young, and Dwight Rhoden, Jennifer graduated with a B.F.A. in Dance. She then continued a diverse dance career with Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company, Gaddy Works, Jennifer Archibald/Arch Dance Company, Nathan Trice/Rituals, Transcendance Group, and Daniel Holt/DIRT, as well as performing and choreographing for ads, film shorts, and music videos. In addition to performing, she is the editor for Dance Magazine's College Guide, as well as project manager for the TERP system for directing human movement. Jen participated in her first NACHMO in 2014, creating the solo "No Longer Lost." She presented this solo for Spoke the Hub's Winter Follies program, won the audience vote, and was presented in a split bill that fall. She was recently selected for the Breaking Glass Project, a mentorship program offering artistic and administrative consultation for emerging female choreographers. In the past year, Jen has presented work for BalaSole Dance Company, MaD Circle Dance, Bailout Theater at Judson Church, and in various outdoor festivals. In the upcoming year, she will be participating in NYU's Alumni Choreographic Workshop with Stephen Petronio, The Moving Beauty Series, and the 12 by 12 Initiative as a featured choreographer for the month of June. In the summer of 2015, she will be presented in Switzerland for Ticino In Danza.
