Jon Burklund (director/performer) is a Brooklyn-based theater artist born in New Jersey. Jon is co-founder and director of BOOM BAT GESTURE Performance Group, which has created seven original works in NYC since 2010, performing at Incubator Arts Project, HERE, and Center for Performance Research, among others. Apart from his work with BBG, Jon has collaborated as a performer with John Jesurun, Mina Nishimura, Sogmush Collective, Nick Brooke, Jenny Rohn, Abi Basch, Joe Fenner and Claudia Schnurer. He has assisted playwright Catherine Filloux on productions at La Mama and Cherry Lane Theater. Jon holds a BA from Bennington College.
