About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!

I was born and have lived for most of my life in the Philippines, to Filipino parents, who, when I was five, separated. Since then, I have never stayed in a single house with the same group of people for more than three years, switching from one family to another (mother, father, uncle, grandmother, bestfriend, friend, another friend, boss, officemate) until I decided to live by myself. I attended a dozen different schools and was, almost every year, a new student. I first traveled on a plane alone at the age of six, and bought my first world map at the age of 9. It was 1991. I memorized the names of all the countries and their capital cities. Somehow, soon after, I grew an intense liking for watching spectacles of nations (such as the Olympics and beauty pageants); or to put another way, going places inside my head. Because of this, I have always had an ambivalent sense of "home", and a perennial sense of mobility. I dont know what "homesick" means, because I'm not sure if I ever felt it. What I know is the feeling of "restless". I always bring an overnight bag, in case I end up, anywhere. And somehow, I managed to be find myself a home wherever I go, forging new relationships, leaving traces. I am a contemporary nomad...at least I am in progress... I focus on the performance of the mobile body, because it is in the body where identity is marked. It is the body that passes through border controls, and the one to has to come to the terms with being a citizen of one country. I chose live or performance art in order to assume a nomadic attitude in creative practice; and due to its many resonances with the concepts of liminality, ephemerality, and fluidity. It strikes a chord with challenging the static notion of identity; with migration, deterritorialization; mobility and nomadism. life as text, body as medium, I in the Other love, smile, laugh, dance, touch
