605 Collective Led by Josh Martin and Lisa Gelley, 605 Collective is a Vancouver-based dance company dedicated to producing new work through a shared creative process. Inspired by an exchange between urban and contemporary forms, 605 places emphasis on movement innovation and physically demanding works, valuing collaboration as an essential tool for new directions in dance. The company aims to offer a highly athletic art form derived from the human experience, exploring new paths and creative methods to build powerful and engaging performances. Through constant collaboration with all involved artists and performers, 605 has continued to push into new territories and awaken a fresh and ever-evolving aesthetic capturing a very broad audience. With an expanding repertoire, the company has now performed from coast to coast in over 30 cities across Canada, as well as in the US, presented at such notable venues as: PuSh Festival (Vancouver), Canada Dance Festival (Ottawa), Usine-C (Montréal), La Rotonde (Québec), DanceWorks (Toronto), Live Art Dance (Halifax), The Banff Centre, On The Boards Northwest New Works Festival (Seattle), Bumbershoot Festival (Seattle), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco), American Dance Festival (Durham, NC) and New York City Center’s Fall for Dance Festival.
