His extensive performance credits include performances throughout the US and abroad including Germany and Ukraine. Gottesman holds a BFA in Dance from Ohio University, and an MFA in Dance Choreography & Technology from The Ohio State University. His research focuses on the use of advanced technologies in dance theatre performance including telematics (live Internet broadcast), interactive media, and processed video with movement in live performance. Gottesman’s choreography challenges conventional performance paradigms by creating a kinetic and intellectual space for the viewer to enter. His unique movement vocabulary of subtle gesture and visceral athleticism reveals his passion for the world in which he lives. He held a Lectureship position in the Maggie Allesee Department of Dance from 2002-2006, teaching modern dance technique, choreography, introduction to dance, and courses in dance technology, along with directing the WSU Dance Company to American College Dance Festival Regional and National honors. Gottesman is the General Manager for the American Ballet Theater – Detroit Summer Intensive. He served as Dance Media and Production Coordinator for the Maggie Allesee Department of Dance from 2005-2009 Gottesman now is the Multimedia specialist in the Media Arts program at Wayne State University where he continues to challenge traditional approaches to education and performance.
