I'm a freelance dancer, choreographer, cross-media producer, and producer and editor of television and internet programming based in New York City. I began my dance career at the age of 16 dancing for Eliot Feld and since then have added martial arts, aerial, and contortion to my arsenal of physical skills. I have performed in England, France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Mexico, and South Korea. I currently perform with several different companies and also create and perform my own work. I began my production career on independent film sets and marketing videos and currently work as a freelance producer and editor of television, internet, and commercial programming. My creative work - whether it's a live performance, a video, a digital experience, or an event - is driven by the human experience expressed through movement, and informed by my experience in the disparate worlds of dance, television/film production, new media & social media, and NYC nightlife. I produce/direct, choreograph, and edit dance videos in collaboration with cinematographers and musicians, as well as with dancers and martial artists. In February/March 2012 I was an artist-in-residence at Arts@Renaissance, where I created a multi-media interactive project called “breathe deeply.... move slowly... smile.” in addition to several dance/movement videos. My writing and photographs have appeared in the Huffington Post as well as on my blog Witkem House. I am currently producing "Under One: A Collection of Dances" - striving to build a broader community around dance through 1-minute-or-less videos, engaging content, and interactive performances.
