Currently, I am pursuing my M.F.A. in dance at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) where I serve as the Publicity Coordinator for the dance department and a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching improvisation and advanced contemporary technique. I am a co-founder of Big Rig Dance Collective, a group of dance artists working to build artistic communities throughout the state of Texas. With colleague Bethany Nelson, I was a co-artistic director of the Kinetic Artists Collective (KAC), and co-produced a site-specific, multimedia performance, called Complex Environments: This is not a bar. As a student and an independent artist, I performed and presented work in Michigan, Texas, Italy, and Mexico. Most recently, I performed in a new site-specific work by Mark Dendy at the American Dance Festival and with José Zamora at the Performática festival in Puebla, Mexico. I am also a member of DanceLab, a group that creates performances for alternative local venues and the TWU dance concert series, collaborates with musicians, performs outreach activities, and hosts a weekly dance improvisation jam. While a member of DanceLab, I have performed works by Jordan Fuchs and Sarah Gamblin and studied with Ann Cooper Albright, Miguel Gutierrez, K.J. Holmes, Lower Left Performance Collective, Nina Martin, Jill Sigman, and Nancy Stark Smith. I strive to continue exploring, performing, and creating innovative performances, combining my interests in alternative venues, multimedia, and improvisation.
