My work goes across disciplines. I build up creative processes in which some digital technologies originate areas of coexistence for philosophy, politics, science and art. My main issue is the body. Body as battleground, limit, instrument and language. They are meta-bodies trying to scape from the heaviness of these bodies we have been given, defined in advance, by hegemonic control moulded along the history to produce pretty humans ready to work and function in society. BIO MARIO BASTIAN: From 1992 he is doing work related to performing arts, experimental music, action art and video art. He studied theatre (direction in the Drama School of León) and visual arts (Arts and Crafts School). Soon he started to work independently as a media artist, generating a device of sound and image in real time for several shows (theatre and contemporary dance). In 1996 he started to work for Silicon Artists Inc., in charge of the design and conceptualization of interactive projects for virtual reality and 3D virtual worlds (some of them have been exhibited in Art Futura) In 2001 he created the Live Cinema Unicoder project, together with the artist Nico Arianoutsos. They presented their work in Territorio Eléctrico (Madrid, Casa Encendida) o FIB Creacion experimental, among others. It's also during those years that he developed and showed his video-creation work in Festivals such as Experimenta Club 05 and 07, Magam Meeting, etc. He is the founder of hybidaRT.net (2000) platform and hybridaRT label (2011) netlabel. With this label he promotes experimental art. He is one of the members of "maDam" (electroacoustic improvisation ensemble). Recently they have played at MNCARS, Matadero Madrid, Menosuno, Centro Cultural Galileo, Espacio Trapezio and, specially, in Cruce and Teatro Pradillo, where they are company in residence. As media performer and electroacoustic improviser he has colaborated with many artists and groups : La Criatura, Omos Uno (Dance), Radu Malfatti, Seijiro Murayama, Alberto Bernal, Wade Mattews, Oscar Lozano, Christiane Boullosa, among others. He works at the same time as Media Art teacher. On-line he works from hybridaRT, and he also collaborates with the School of Experimental Music of Madrid, and with Estudio3 (performing arts school of Madrid) directing the laboratory of interactive dance, exploring his own interactive systems for dance, music and video
