SIRIUS DANCE is an independent contemporary dance company, founded formally in 2010 under the direction of Pilar Dukes Torras, the artistic direction of Nicolaas Marckmann and the production of Marta Caldentey Tur. The three of them are surrounded by an enthusiastic team, with whom they share the same principles, aims and approaches to the world of culture and arts in general. Sirius Dance has decided to establish the residence in Barcelona, without any loss if its multiculturalism regarding the team members, which makes the company be more special. The philosophy of Sirius Dance is the proactivity and its multidisciplinary prospects (dance, poetry, photography, video art, theatre, installations) Sirius Dance makes its first step with the first work: “Cheating at Chess” uniting the work of Glaub da Silva, Diego Leiva and Pilar Dukes Torras, as members of the company, choreographers and dancers, who are the ones performing this work. The artistic team of “Cheating at Chess” has a long professional trajetory and contributes with all their experience to the work. At the moment, the company is in the process of creation of a trilogy, performed and choreographed by Nicolaas Marckmann, the new dancer of Sirius Dance: Juan Leiba and Pilar Dukes Torras. It is planned to have the première this autumn. Respect and open mind are characteristics of each one of the members of the group, who develop parallel projects with the help and support of the other ones.
