About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!
I started my college education at Occidental College, in Los Angeles CA with a Psychobiology Bachelor, always fascinated with the mechanisms of Brain structure and how all this neural connections affect our behavior, emotions, cognition, movement e.t.c. Continued my education in Greece, where I specialized in Family therapy and got my license as a psychotherapist. I worked in a Drug addicts rehabiliation center for four years as a therapist, and then started my private practice working with adults mainly. Since I remember my self, I was always very enegetic ,into sports, taking dance classes since I was 5 years old. Working in Private practice, made me realize, that I was basically sitting all day, not moving and also my patients needed something more that just talking. I participated in a seminar( basic foundation ) of Sherborne Developmental movement, a method which combines movement exercises according to Laban theory and is reaaly beneficial for children, adults with learning and movement disabilities. So slowly by slowly I started giving movement sessions to a day center, with adults with special needs, 5 years ago, and this group started with 2 people and today there are 15 people that meet twice a week and love to move and dance. I got all the bibliography of Anne Gilbert, her method Brain Dance and Creative Dance for all ages and encorporate it into my work. At this point, I started two new groups for ages 60+ and 35+ and love it...My goal is to be able to complete Ladan education and be certified as a Laban movement instructor. Thank you for taking the time and reading about me.. Sincerely, Natassa DAmaskou
