The group was founded in Tel Aviv in 1993, By Noa Dar and 8 dancers, partners to the creation process and for the development of a unique movement and visual language.
Since established, the Noa Dar Dance Group has created and performed 25 dance pieces.
The works were commissioned by the most prominent Israeli festivals: “Israel Festival”, “Curtain Up”, “Acco Festival”, and “Children’s’ Sound”. These works received excellent responses from public and critics alike.
The company is performing intensively through out the year in Israel and abroad at International festivals including: Rome, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Lisbon, Vienna, Berlin, Rovereto, Budapest, Poznan, Tallinn, Vilnius, Shanghai, Santiago, San Jos'e, Frankfurt, Munster and den Haag.
The Noa Dar Dance Group is the recipient of the 2002 Minister of Culture’s prize for outstanding performance. The work “Tetris” received an award of excellence from the 2006 "Accor Festival for Alternative Theater". In 2008 Dar was awarded the performing art’s Rosenblum Prize - for her artistic excellence from the City of Tel-Aviv. In 2009 - Noa recieved the most important prize in Israel for choreographers - "The Creation Prize" from the Cultuer Minister.
The company is giving regular classes at The Noa Dar Studio, workshops and lecture demonstration for dance students and the public.
The group is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports (the dance division), the Israeli Lottery council for the arts, The Rabinovich Foundation and The cultural relations department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
