About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!
I am an interdisciplinary artist originally from Chicago, currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with some years spent in Santa Fe, NM in between. I have exhibited across the U.S. and internationally and have received awards from the Mills College Visual Arts Department (the Hung Liu Prize), the Santa Fe Arts Commission, the Illinois Arts Council, and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. My artistic roots are in photography and creating installations that incorporate video, sound, and/or performance. My creative work often emerges as a response to place, merging personal inquiries with location in a way that utilizes the resources available in that given time and considers spacial architecture, action and gesture, and social practice. My inquiries have spanned a great distance in 20 years, but currently I am interested in building installations/performances that consider spacial architecture and choreography and incorporate imagery, sound, and body movement. I have a MFA from Mills College in Oakland, CA, lived, worked, and studied for many years in the Bay Area with dance matriarch Anna Halprin.
