Choreographer's statement: I describe myself as a neo-modernist and a humanist. I am continually investigating new ways to make modern dance accessible to a broad audience. I am most interested in effectively using the power of movement to compel both feeling and thought, through the medium of the body. I try to draw people into a world, and make them forget, to a certain extent, that they are an audience. Our audiences relate to the dancers and to the work because it is human, not super-human. The element of theater is central.
