The Pink Mama Theatre is a free European Theatre and Dance company based in Bern (Switzerland). It has no stage of its own. Our aim is to produce both, theatre and dance pieces as well as hybrid forms. The basic idea behind this is to treat all art forms equally and to try to create a dialogue between them, in theatre, dance, music or other forms. We are interested in an encounter on equal terms, so that the work of each performer becomes part of an overall art work. We want to establish exchanges between artists from different genres and cultures. Pink Mama Theatre is searching for the idea of total theatre, of an ideal mixture of all forms of performing and fine arts. The company’s make-up (Poland, Germany,France, Switzerland) means that the Pink Mama Theatre is a meeting platform for European culture and theatrical traditions from east and west. By reflecting on our origins and through the frictions between our cultures, we develop our own idiom, our distinctive expression and style. In our performances, individuals with their personal histories and emotions play the central role.
