Sofia Fernandez is interested in Movement Arts -Action Theate, Butoh, Somatic Movement and Body Awareness, the Feldenkrais Method, dance theatre and pysical theatre. She has trained in different performance practices with Kate Hilder, Sally E Dean, Yael karavan, Miriam MIM King, Ryuzo Fukuhara, Sachiko Fullita and Anna Helena McLean amongst others. She has has a degree in English and French Philology from the University of Oviedo. She graduated from Brighton University with a First Class Honours Degree in Theatre Arts. She is a teacher of language and literature with a C.A.P and a Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics by Westminster University, London, and a certified teacher of Theatre Arts (PGCE in Art and Design, Brighton University). She has worked in performance with several text-based and physical theatre companies such as The Karavan Ensemble, The Whodowudoos, Transient Dance Theatre and Rabos de Lagartija. She has taught workshops and courses in educational establishments and Arts centres in Spain, France and the UK, such as Brighton University, Coachwerks Brighton, Alter&Nativa and La Cámara. She currently performs and leads workshops with the Spanish company Rabos de Lagartija.
