I am a movement, dance, visual artist and body researcher. My work is based on Lisa Nelson's Tuning Score as well as my studies in contact-improvisation. I have explored the world of dance through the science of somatics and the listening body with mentors such as Steve Paxton, KJ Holmes, Andrew Hardwood and have been involved in many workshops and study groups looking at how we see dance from the inside and out. My experimental dance company, Kukoo Garden questions the use of space,imagery, objects, sound and technology to generate movement in the body that resonates seamlessly with these environments. In my upcoming piece, Enter LA Room, I am looking at the how the meeting of choreography and spontaneous composition in sound, dance and images can collide as well as flow to create spaces that communicate and transfer physicality to the viewer.
