    Zinnia Nomura is a dancer, contemporary circus artist and cultural manager. Born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Germany as a teenager. After graduating from Hamburg Ballet School in 2014, she spent four years working as a ballet and musical performer at various state theaters in Germany. In 2018 she started to freelance on a variety of projects in Berlin and the world as a dancer and performer and recently also as circus artist. Her own work is exploring interactivity, technology, feminist and ecological themes. Since November 2020, she has been working as a performer and director on her own interactive dance piece , which was funded by the Max-Himmelheber-Stiftung and Dis-Tanzen Solo Programme (Germany) and performed at the Remote Closeness Festival (Jordan/online). In 2022 several of her works were selected for funding by Neustart Kultur /German culture commission. She co-created the contemporary circus piece SLOTH, an aerial arts duo about degrowth from the perspective of two sloths. Currently she is working on The 404 Project an interdisciplinary collaboration about feedback loops, interactive theater and generative art. Besides herwork as a performer, she also graduated with a distance degree in “Sustainability and Development” summa cum laude from Arizona State University in 2019 and worked on cultural management for various organisations and projects.
