About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!

My strength as an artist is in bringing groups of people together for interdisciplinary collaboration. This has culminated in many forms; multi-media performances, festivals, curating gallery shows, teaching, projected video and sculptural installation. I work with whatever media necessary specific to each project. For me, making art in collaboration sets up a moment of shared attention and engagement. We become aware of our attention. This kind of hyper focus is rare in contemporary life and I use my process as an opportunity to make it more prevalent. It is important to me that my work is accessible to a broad audience and that the viewer’s interaction/participation completes the work. I often work with archetypal elemental objects in transformation such as ice melting, potatoes growing, eggshells decomposing, water or dirt. In many cases my intention is to get the viewer to stop, simply to pause, and then, to recognize something simple as sublimely beautiful and profound. I am an artist who has become facile with new technology and the immediacy of digital video, which I shoot, edit and project. I work with video both as process to practice self-witnessing and as performance to bring the past to the present. I often use live feed projection in my performances as a way of increasing intimacy with the viewer. In other cases I show them something that ordinarily social emotional barriers or time would inhibit me from presenting live. I sometimes slow down, speed up or reverse the video to reveal something that is not visible at ordinary speed. Ideas of elemental emergence and transformation, macro and micro-cosmic relationships, the personal and universal weave concurrent through my works.
