val smith is a choreographic artist based in New Zealand whose work investigates the body as a politically complex network. Their practice involves experimentation with perception, affect and participation and is intrinsically connected to feminist and queer theory. Drawing on somatic and improvisational research processes, val produces collaborative and solo performance works for various contexts aiming to create immersive, critical and socially engaged environments.
