Heaven Sky/Ch: P Touzeau/Dance Works rotterdam

Pascal Touzeau takes the classical ballet technique as a point of departure to arrive at adventurous and fantastic deformations. He makes the dancers move in clear spatial patterns that reveal the structure of the movement. The thought that another eternity exists after life on earth and the question what this other existence might be were Touzeau’s inspiration for this choreography. ’The way in which the body translates this poetry in pure movement serves as a guide in this atmosphere. There were moments during the making of the dance when the choreography seemed to indicate the direction in which it wanted to develop. As if destiny played a part in what ‘Heaven ’ sky’ turned out to be, not unlike the way life might also be predetermined.’THE PRESS ABOUT HEAVEN ‘ SKY:“The dancing is full of dedication, precision and above all, beauty.”- Rotterdams Dagblad, 18-01-2003, by Mieke de Bont“…swinging sections look interesting and hyper-complicated…”- Parool, 21-01-2003, by Francine van der Wiel“…swinging vitality…full of distorted, extreme and surprising shapes.”- Leidsch Dagblad, 22-03-2003, by Maarten BaandersClick here for complete reviews
