Documentation of 10 Backwards (1999) by Blast Theory
10 Backwards was a 70 minute performance combining live and pre-rendered mixes of video projected either at end of a traverse stage. Toured throughout the UK and in Europe during 1999, the performance used a narrative as a way of looking at ideas of the future.
A woman travels ten years into the future. Within an hour of arrival she is sucked back to the present bearing an illness in which she suffers from non-stop deja vu. Amidst flash guns, video landscapes and early techno, she sets about fighting her condition.
