  • At first I had my reservations about the music and the piece for as the choreographer it seemed opposite of what kind of message I wanted to relay, but as I watched it a few more times it seemed to make the dance so much more dramatic and "epic" as others are saying. It gave a completely different feel from what I originally intended, the editing created this intensity that was purely exciting.
  • This music added a lot of intensity to the videodance. The use of a music soundtrack made the movement seemed emphasized and epic. The music track was cut well to the music making Danni's gesture seem more powerful. I really like this piece without music, and the added music track gave me another layer to appreciate.
  • The music in this video sounds so epic! Like Patrick said in class, I feel like this dance will save the world! I felt like this intense song complimented the dancer, and I appreciated how you incorporated new footage to achieve this (or so it seems). Also, the music doesn't feel layered on, as if you just added a cool sounding track. There are distinct moments in which the dancer's movements as somehow going with the music in a clearly purposeful way. It worked for me. I enjoyed the ending as well, the simplicity of just zooming in on the hands, and then the hands dragging away. Great Job, Hang!
  • The movie soundtrack music added this intensity and urgency to the choreography. The visuals and audio were edited well--one led to, supported, and strengthened the other. The repetitions, pace, and complexity of the instrumentals felt like they were breathing into the movement--intentional editing.
  • The music adds a lot of drama to this piece and draws me into the movement. It creates suspense, and intention and builds with the dancers movements. I appreciate how the music becomes faster with drumming sounds as Dani starts quickly spinning in circles. It also made me see the piece as more of a narrative in which Dani is trying to escape from something but seems to be constantly stopped by the space or her own body. The music didn't seem like it was it plastered on but fit nicely with the build of the piece.
  • Hang, this piece is scintillating. The movement creates this obvious narrative of inner struggle, but your music on top of it. YUM! It makes the quiet, personal struggle this epic battle. Rocky meets Centerstage meets Flashdance. It reinforces and exaggerates the power of her movements the subtlety of the rhythms. As a viewer I see more of the movement because of how the movements sync with the music. The editting alterations with strong song choice created a whole new experience for myself. It helps to progress the piece as well as to keep me invested in Dani's story. I also find it interesting that there are no huge dramatic shifts in the movement--there is steady build and exploration and development, but with the introduction of the music I now see more dramatic shifts in tone and quality of the movements and I feel that I can more easily read the emotions that are attempted to be conveyed about this inner struggle. Nice work :)
