I'm interested in how you're using the footage - is it for publicity? for you to go back to and investigate as a choreographer? both?
in terms of programs to try, MAX MSP has a free trial and an affordable student rate, and you can do pretty much anything on it. I've found that it's better for video capture than post production, but one of the things that's great about it is you can interface sound and video at the same time.
