Introductory video about the Biomodd [LBA2] project in the Philippines in 2009. This video was made for "The Game is Up! How to Save the World in Ten 10 Days?", a new media festival in the Vooruit Arts Centre in Ghent, Belgium (March 4-14, 2009). Several collaborators talk about their expectations of the project, and how Biomodd resonates with Philippine culture and customs. In order of appearance: Diego Maranan, Lai del Rosario, Al-Francis Librero, Angelo Vermeulen. Camera and editing by Waise Azimi and Angelo Vermeulen. Produced for Vooruit Arts Centre, Ghent, Belgium, 2009. Biomodd is an interactive and collaborative art project that integrates nature and technology. The aim of the project is to create an art installation in which different forms of plant life coexist with a fully functioning computer system. This system is built almost entirely from recycled computers, and plant growth is stimulated by the excess heat of the working electronics. Visitors can interact with this art installation by playing a multiplayer computer game that runs on this hybrid system Biomodd: http://www.biomodd.net Waise Azimi: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2748964 Angelo Vermeulen: http://www.angelovermeulen.net
