Hi all, and thanks, Marlon, for coming out to EMPAC to visit us and look at the work process and the inspiring environment, then do the interview with us.
Perhaps it can be mentioned as well that one doesn't have to see such workshops as one-time events or as singular (even though of course we know there are many many workshops happening all over the world), but for the continuities of research and practice, in our community or in the performance/media arts scene (which bridges generations and cultural as as well as disciplinary, pedagogical affiliations), I'd propose that such workshops are part of our archive and repertoire of practice, rehearsal, experimentation and knowledge exchange on a very serious level.
We tried to publish our work and our thinking in the blog pages: Live.Media+Performance 2010 Blog, and the writing and the reflections continue long after the workshop ended, thus possibly connecting to other/future labs and projects. For example, on October 27 I am planning to give a live-stream lecture at Brunel University's Performance Research Seminar on the subject matter of "Dispostif: Performance Repositions," in which i will begin talking about spatial arrangements for the kind of work (installation -performances) we did and will do. Much discussion on the last day of the workshop focussed on the very fine line that distinguishes (or not) installations from performances or performances from installations.
Good to see what happened/is happening there. I have many friends who have done work at this space and I appreciate seeing a glimpse into a workshop and the director and the workshop leaders voices/images.
I am off to do this project soon and will be connecting to dance-tech.net as we progress further.

Thanks for the video! This is an excelent way that we can get to know what is happening regarding the performing arts in the world! I did not know about the existence of EMPAC and I was astonished to virtually meet this place!
