  • The beginning with the words and the people were a nice introduction. Though the dance felt a little documented still because of the constant wide shots of the dancers, it as a good variation in angles. i appreciated see the audience as well as the dancers to give more of a context and chaotic feeling to the piece. the camera was more of an audience member watching the piece which was apparent when seeing all the other audience members walking around and how the camera stayed back from the dance. It would be nice to see some of the detailing of the piece like arm movements or the shirts close up. The editing was nice for it had a continuity in it and changed angles which made it more intriguing, though it still felt a little documented.
  • I was struck by how natural this camera perspective felt. It felt like an intimate, peeping into something as opposed to a documentary. This was propably because of the moving camera, and how the camera wasn't always encompassing the whole dance, or trying to. The camera sees the dancers backs, and sometimes it feels like the dancers get in the camera's way - it makes the footage feel so natural, a definite human perspective.

I thought the editting here was a nice improvement. Nice choices for these cuts. I particularly like when Tori is about to kick, and the image cuts to everyone kicking. Without the many cuts, it would have felt more documentary-like to me.
  • The camera movement introduced a human essence into the videodance--constantly shifting focus looking through the crowd, looking across the landscape of curled bodies, attempting to find individuals amongst the masses. Yet, i had trouble finding these individuals--the editing seemed to cut too often from one dancer to the crowd, back to another dancer. I longed for more time to follow individuals before the camera opened back up to the crowd. I was constantly trying to find, separate, and understand what each dancer was bringing into this world.
  • The way the shots were edited gave the piece a very intimate feel. It was interesting to see the bodies moving so close up and felt as if you were standing right in the middle of all the dancers. It gave me the impression that there was a lot going on and that I had to constantly re-adjust my focus to see everything. I appreciated the way the dancers movements overlapped with one another so that one dancer completed the movement of another dancer. The moment where one dancer begins to flick her hands and feet and then it cuts to a wide shot where all the dancers do this movement was particularly striking.
