http://www.dance-tech.net Creative Resident at MUSE 010 Tanzplan Dresden Palucca Schule Hanna Hegenscheidt was born in Bremen, Germany and received her diploma in dance and dance pedagogy from the Lola-Rogge-Schule in Hamburg in 1992. She continued her studies at various studios in New York, among them the Susan Klein School of Dance, Movement Research, the Trisha Brown School and the Atlantic Theater Company. While working in New York as a dancer and choreographer for nine years Hanna was certified as a Movement Analyst (CMA) by the Laban-Bartenieff-Institute for Movement Studies and as a Teacher of Klein-Technique. In 1998 she began teaching Klein-Technique at the Susan Klein School of Dance and Movement Studies and the Trisha Brown School. She also worked as a teaching artist at the Lincoln Center Institute for Aesthetic Education in the New York school system. Since moving to Berlin in 2004 she has build her own Klein-Technique class at the studio LaborGras. She also teaches regularly at Sasha Waltz & Guests and the Tanzfabrik. From 2007 -- 2010 she was a member of the teaching staff of the pilot Bachelor´s University Program for Contemporary Dance (HZT) in Berlin. As a dancer/performer Hanna has worked with Robert Wilson, Reinhild Hoffmann, Achim Freyer, and Martin Clausen/Two Fish among others. In 2004 she founded her own company, collaborating with dancers and actors from New York and Berlin. Her pieces, Prolog (2004), I´m okay you´re okay (2005), Klaus ist tot (2006) and Lieb sein (2009) have been presented at DTW's Freshtracks, Dance Space's Out Of Space Series, Soaking WET at the West End Theater, Dance@ 8 acres in Vermont, the Tanztage Berlin, Sophiensaele and Radialsystem in Berlin, Kampnagel Fabrik in Hamburg, Villa Warsawa in Warsaw, the Yorkshire Dance Festival in Leeds/England among others. In 2007 she choreographed the pieces Battle Ground and Ich tanze weiter for teenage breakdancers at the Cactus Theater Münster and the Städtische Bühnen in Münster. From 2008--2010 she was choreographic assistant to Achim Freyer for Wagner´s Ring Cycle at Los Angeles Opera.
