Still Night, choreographed by Chris Ferris, incorporates 12 sculptural lights that streak the room with illumination and rustling as they become an extension of the dancer’s presence. The lights are designed and constructed by artist Warren Kloner. This trio, danced by Erin DeLucia-Benson, Grace Di Lorenzo, and Dana Doggett inscribes pathways of light that are created by intricate dance phrases carried out with and without lights. The piece draws the viewer’s attention from light filled air to the human body and finally expresses how all are connected. Lights are carried, rolled, and slashed and are equally important as the dancer’s bodies. Together they create a landscape of dreamlike imagery. Original music is by Andrew Drury. This dance is part of the suite of works that make up Proximity Of Clouds, a full evening work.
