Just in time for Hispanic Heritage Month, Ballet Hispánico introduces new adult class offerings in Salsa and Flamenco at the company’s School of Dance at 167 W. 89th Street, NYC. The classes are recommended for ages 18 and up and will get attendees up and moving to the beat in no time. Classes are available for all levels and begin the week of September 12, 2016. CLASS RATES:
$20 for single drop-in class, $90 for 5-class card, $170 for 10-class card


BEGINNER FLAMENCO: Mondays at 6:30pm with Yvonne Gutierrez

This class serves as an introduction to the art form of flamenco, covering basic technique. Attendees will work on rhythm exercises and full body coordination to engage the entire body through hand, arm and footwork exercises. Dancers will have fun expressing themselves through this dramatic dance style!

ABSOLUTE BEGINNER SALSA: Tuesdays at 7:30pm with Amanda Marquez
Participants will learn fundamentals of rhythmic movement, partnering, and turn sequences that make up the popular New York On2 style. This fun and relaxed introductory class walks dancers through the basics of the form in a welcoming way—but attendees won’t just learn steps, but will learn how to dance!

ADVANCED BEGINNER SALSA: Wednesdays at 6:30 with Amanda Marquez
Dancers will build on the fundamentals of the New York On2 style and learn partnering and movement at a faster pace. This class delves into more variety of styling techniques and turn patterns that will improve prowess on the dance floor! 

INTERMEDIATE SALSA: Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 with Amanda Marquez
Attendees will push the envelope and challenge themselves with intricate partnering and turn patterns. For the dancer who has mastered and moved beyond the basics, this class will work to build seamless lead and follow technique at a quick pace to prepare to be a responsive dancer and partner.
