Baltic Movement Conference is a meeting of dance practitioners, theoreticians, managers of culture and people experienced in promoting and supporting dance. The goal of the conference is to stimulate a critical discussion about the new currents in the contemporary dance and exchange of ideas and practices in the field of dance research, education, production and promotion. The conference is organised in cooperation with the Institute of Music and Dance, Gdansk University, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. The special guests of our conference this year will be professor Steve Dixon (Brunel University, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Strategy and Development), Johannes Birringer (Ph.D, AlienNation Company), Susan Kozel (Ph.D, MEDEA Collaborative Media Initiative, Malmö University). Different forms of presentation, ranging from work demonstration, through workshop sessions, to paper presentations, will hopefully provide a variety of perspectives to view the problem of body in contemporary dance practice and performance.
