The Laboratorio Somático Escénico de la Cooperativa Nidopermita, invites you to begin the year with an intensive workshop with Robert Steijn and Laura Ríos.  This will be a 3 day workshop in a beautiful place at the edge of Mexico City. People come from different places and countries to stay 3 days working profoundly and having a nice meeting with other people.

We investigate the body/mind/space relation. How do certain shifts in the minds, generate certain shifts in the body, generating certain shifts in the space. The workshop questions the power of imagination in our lives and in our dance, by researching shamanic belief-systems about totem animals. We will do exercises and improvisations to invite the snake-spirit in our bodies and mind. In Robert case the snake stands for the power of transformative change in ourselves and in our society. He considers the snake as a androgynous being, making a balance between female and masculine energies. In a playful way, we will enter the world of riding snake energies in our body, give form to them in a way that they can communicate with the outside world.

The snake is also very connected to the tree – in the genesis part of the bible, in buddhism where buddha awakens under a bodhi tree and with a big cobra head above his head-and we will also investigate its stillness of inner growth.

This workshop is an attempt to regain the feeling of being part of nature, in our imaginary connection with trees and the snake. It will be a workshop where Eros – the master of the sensual relationships- will meet Ecology.

This workshop incluces sessions of Topf-Release with Laura Ríos,  connecting body, mind and spirit through anatomical maps, cycles of energy and hands on.  We will work with our internal snake: the spine.
