MOV-S 2012 is a collaborative work process that will culminate with an Ibero-American meeting for professionals, groups and organizations devoted to dance, motion arts and contemporary creativity.

The meeting will take place in Cadiz from June 14th to June 17th, 2012 and will coincide with the celebration of the bicentenary of the 1812 Spanish Constitution signed in Cadiz and with celebration of the city as Ibero-American Capital of Culture. It will be organized by Mercat de les Flors and the Cadiz city Council.

The fourth edition of MOV-S aims to create a space for discussion that encourages reflection in continuity.

www.mov-s.org opens an space to share thoughts and experiences about the modes of operation in dance, motion arts and contemporary creation in Ibero-America. Our underlying will is to generate a preliminary discussion, that is, a prior development of thoughts and reflections to reach agreement on the specific topics to be discussed within the community.

The meeting will be a horizontal space for discussion within the dance sector professionals: artists, scholars, cultural managers, curators, producers, and so on.

In addition, several performances and/or ongoing art projects will take place in some theaters and public spaces of the city. Special attention will be paid to new trends in flamenco and Ibero-American collaborative projects. This artistic program will be presented under the umbrella of the influential festival Cádiz en Danza.

Our main objectives for the debate in MOV-S are: offering a space for exchanging ideas, reflections and thoughts about ways of working in dance in Ibero-American contexts, reflecting together on the responsibilities, rights and actions to be performed in the contexts we belong to and developing collaborative strategies with Ibero-America.

As for the artistic program, we offer an area of visibility among Latin American artists and attendees at MOV-S with the aim of promoting mutual understanding and possible future collaborations.
