MOVEMENT & AWARENESS / FORSYTHE IMPROVISATION
with TAMAS MORICZ

19-24. November 2012

Eden***** Studios, Dock 11
Breite Straße 43. Berlin 13187

Mo-Fr. 10.30-17.00 ( with an hour lunch break )
Sa. 10.30-14.00

This workshop is a collection of ideas that lead to a greater awareness of your body in movement. An understanding on how to better your sense of coordination, balance/off balance and articulate
movement to reach a higher level of artistry. These essentials form a solid base to all dance training, regardless of style.

During the workshop we'll explore Improvisational Modalities that generate complex movements and better your sense of balance and coordination. We'll examine what movement is: Dynamics, Momentum, Direction, Inclination, Rhythm, Velocity, etc and learn to use their influences as Improvisational tools. We'll work with Improvisational Modalities such as Point-Point-Line, Cross-Hemispheric exercises, Inclinations, Bridging, Folding, Isometries, etc.

These modalities can be used in any number of combinations and structured to create choreography. They will also help to make better use of your already existing dance knowledge.

Working with this type of Improvisation can open up new perceptions on how you see dance and it that will highlight your authentic performing qualities. It will help you to reach and clearly define new, unfamiliar ideas.

Listening and allowing the body to suggest movement, create unique conditions of high-velocity learning that cannot be matched by more stable conditions.

This new found sense of your body in motion leads to new levels of creativity and often translate into breakthrough results.

Working in this manner is often an opening into your true possibilities and it can become a defining element in many forms of creative processes.

The Forsythe Improvisational Technologies are a way of working with movement that William Forsythe and the Ballett Frankfurt used to develop their works. Most contemporary works have been influenced by these ideas such is the range of the collective tools.

In this week long workshop we'll create a new sensibility and understanding to how you can define your individuality through Clarity, Precision, Focus and Awareness.

Movement Awareness is my personal take on what creates grace and a higher level of artistry in the moving body.

With Pre-Registration the workshop is 290 Euros.
