An idiosyncratic synthesis of dance, technology, interaction, visual image, sound and nature creates a vast, an obscure phenomenon of the prescient and the timeless.

“Απεραντοσύνη/Vastness” is a choreographic installation created by Maria Mitsi who investigates how digital scenography and interaction, affect the visual spectacle. The investigation focuses on the extension of the human body, through the use of technology. The body becomes both a canvas and the instigator of the projected visuals.

Bodies act as spectators, performers, witnesses and wanderers.

Inspired by the idea of “sublime” as an expression of the unknowable, the unthinkable and the unspeakable – beyond comprehension and beyond apprehension. The sense of conflicting forces derived from terror and calm, the profound of nature and the sea’s unseen depths. The behaviour of ocean waves, the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the gravitational forces of the moon, earth and sun.

A cycle – From full moon to full moon, from darkness to light, our life, the beginning of the world and the uncertainty. The real and unreal. Somewhere between and beneath.

Featuring an original soundtrack by Javier Aparicio.
