This FREE 3 HOUR WORKSHOP will explore the process of guiding young voices to create original work. In a “Lab” setting, participants will share experiences and techniques with peers, and walk away with new ideas for shaping original, student-generated dance, theater and performance work in classrooms, residencies and beyond. Key focuses of this workshop include:

  • What are key elements in developing and producing student created work
  • Strategies to working with your support community
  • Different models for cultivating original work by young people
  • Baseline skills to create a safe space in performance
  • Exploring a developmental Tool Box

New and seasoned classroom teachers, teaching artists, and working artists interested in exploring new ways of creating work, coaching young artistic voices, and learning new tools for providing frameworks for creativity in performance.
