My original professional background is in natural sciences (molecular biology). But after receiving my PhD in this field, I quickly moved on and found my true calling in the natural sciences (artificial live, artificial intelligence) and generative art (in particular interactive forms of generative with applications in the performing arts).
I consider myself to be both an artist and a researcher. I have realized algorithmic films, interactive installations and audiovisual performances, some of them in collaboration with musicians and choreographers. The derivation of generative algorithms and interaction techniques from simulation principles employed within the synthetic natural sciences forms a central aspect of my work.
At the moment, my main focus lies on the development and application of machine learning-based systems for dance and choreography.
