  • Inis Tuisceart (off Clogher Head, Ballyferriter, Co. Kerry) is often translated "northernmost island."  Is it... however, from much older than Christian times... "Tuisco's Island" (and hence also Tech Duinn)?  The ancient & unidentified ruins of gathering hall, meditation cells & caves, orchard, raised bed gardens, and stone-lined paths on this southern side suggest a self-sufficient community of up to 60 people. Was this the "resting point" in the Soul's Journey where the recently deceased, on their way to the south-westerly Island of Eternal Bliss, stopped over for "cleansing" by the rituals of a monastic, men's community devoted to Don/Tuisco?

This marked a singular point on the vibrant after-death line of the Soul's Path (which I have called the Lord & Lady Line because after it extends to Donn's Hill - Cnoc Fírinne, in County Limerick - it crosses Lough Gur to exactly meet the peak ridge of the Lady Sun, Grian's Hill - Cnoc Gríanne at Pallas Green).  It was Donn/Doun himself.. the ancient analog to Don, Anu's companion from central Europe... who provided the final guidance and safety for the Soul after it left temporary shelter in a human body, and guided it safely to the western isle.
